Quick Must Eat Places before Leaving Reykjavik

Good bye beautiful Iceland!

We packed up our stuff for Iceland, and headed to eat somewhere before heading to the airport.

Sægreifinn

After struggling with finding some parking, we headed over to this restaurant. Since it was just Tam and me, it was easy to find seating. It's a small place in the front, so if your'e a larger group, make reservations. We saw the woman tell people to come back because it was too busy.

Anyway, this place is cool because you can pick your seafood and they'll grill it for you. They had some kind of special this day that was 1 grilled stick of some kind of fish... And lobster soup. Their lobster soup was the most amazing I've had.

Like I've said, I don't know if it's actually lobster or langoustine, but either way, it's all delicious. It's very soft, and the flavors they put in were really mild and complimented each other well.

Bæjarins Beztu Pylsur - Part 2

It was gonna happen again. I mean, it was the last day, and most of what we were doing was flying anyway.

Goodbye Icelandic Hotdogs

I'll miss you.

Airport

We headed to the airport after, since our flight was around 4pm. The activity in the airport was much different from when we landed, almost mostly because everything was busier than at 6am.

Random note, but the TSA equivalent of Iceland is SO COOL. The trays are automated so you only have to worry about putting your stuff in a bin. They forbid pictures in the area, but it was super chill anyway.

We bought some stuff and headed onto the plane. The terminal for Icelandair is so busy! It's actually grown a lot since the financial collapse in 2007-2008, thanks to all the tourism.

Anyway, we hopped on the plane and got back to NYC. The night ended early because we were exhausted and wanted to rest for the next day to come!
